At the special meeting Monday morning to appoint someone for the State Senate seat left vacant due to the passing of John Schiffer, all three Johnson County Commissioners voted for Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey.

Sheridan Media caught up with two of Johnson County's Commissioners to find out the reason they voted the way they did.

Commissioner John Gibbs said he couldn't speak for anyone else, but for his vote, he looked at all the candidates and chose the one he felt had the most experience to represent District 22.

Commission Chair Delbert Eitel echoed Gibbs' feelings, saying he felt Kinskey was the best candidate.

Johnson County's third commissioner, Jim Hicks, could not be reached for comment.
