At their last meeting, the Johnson County Commissioners approved a number of items, including a lease agreement at the white hangar building at the airport.
The lease is a standard lease used by the county and was signed October 5th by lessee Dave Sisk, and approved for the Chair's signature by the Commissioners at the meeting.
The commissioners also approved the renewal of a grant for 2012-13.
The chairman signed the authorization for the grant through the Department of Family Services for a Temporary Aid To Needy Families (TANF) Grant in the amount of $43,032.
The purpose of TANF is to provide temporary cash assistance to families in need and to end the dependence of needy parents on government benefits by promoting job preparation and work. The program was formerly known as Aid to Families with Dependent Children.
Finally the Commission approved moving their first meeting of 2013 from Tuesday, January 1st to Tuesday, January 8th. That will also accommodate the swearing in of newly-elected officials on Monday, January 7th to ready them for their first meetings in January.
