Johnson County's Commissioners discussed and approved a number of items on the agenda from their last meeting.
They approved a request from the Johnson County Family YMCA for use of the county courthouse parking lot for their annual 3-on-3 “Battle on the Blacktop” basketball tournament June 13th, 14th, and 15th.
The commissioners approved a request for a catering permit to provide malt beverages at the Bighorn Mountain Festival July 11th, 12th and 13th.
The commissioners initially approved a Memorandum Of Understanding (or MOU) between the Department of Revenue (or DOR) and themselves for the state to provide new computers to the County Assessor's office. They agreed to allow the chairman to sign the agreement once it was approved by the county attorney. The MOU has since been tabled to allow the DOR to re-write the agreements and get them back to the various counties in the state.
At this week's short meeting, the commissioners voted to table a utility easement request from ACT Broadband to allow looking into the county not paying a second time should it become necessary to move the line after the library addition is complete.
Finally, the contracts between the county and Volunteers of America (or VOA) to provide bed days, drug court services and juvenile probation services for the coming fiscal year were signed by the commission chair after County Attorney Ken DeCock approved them at this week's meeting.
