Johnson County's Commissioners, at this week's meeting, took recommendations from the Johnson County Fair Board and Kaycee/Buffalo/Johnson County Economic Development Joint Powers Board (KBJ/ED/JPB) and made appointments to open positions on each.
Three applications were submitted for the open Fair Board seat from Jackie Benton, Tanna Heller and Bob Pierce.
Jackie Benton was recommended by Commissioner John Gibbs, and was then approved unanimously.
Two applications, one from Rich Griffith and the other from Jim Gampetro were received by the KBJ/ED/JPB, with commissioner Jim Hicks recommending Rich Griffith for the open seat.
Griffith was also approved unanimously.
Commissioner Hicks then made a motion for Administrative Assistant Jennifer Jackson draft letters to those that weren't appointed, thanking them for their interest and encouraging them to continue to apply for board positions in the future.
