The Johnson County Care and Share program has already begun in Buffalo, and the idea is that area kids and seniors won't do without this Holiday season.
The Caring and Sharing program is a name given to a number of familiar events meant to help those in the community that might otherwise be forgotten. Buffalo Chamber of Commerce Director Angela Jarvis explains:
Jarvis said normally there are 130 to 170 kids helped through the Toys for Tots program, but last year 270 kids were signed up, so there is even more need for donations this year.
In addition to Toys for Tots, those wishing to contribute can do so through the Angel Tree program, the book drive, mitten tree, or Golden Tree/Senior Stocking, designed to give our area senior citizens a little something to open Christmas morning. Jarvis said persons can also donate funds to any of the programs.
