At their meeting Tuesday, the Johnson County Commissioners awarded the contract to build a new bridge on Canal Road to CCG Construction for $339,903.
The county received eight different bids on the project ranging from the low bid from CCG to a high of about $660,000. The engineer's estimate was for roughly $371,000.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer made the recommendation to the commissioners and asked for the chair to sign the bid award and for himself to be named as county representative/project coordinator.
He gives more information on CCG and the project itself.
The bridge replacement project at Canal Road north of Buffalo is expected to be completed by the end of May.
