The Johnson County Commissioners, at their meeting Tuesday, awarded the contract to provide administrative services for employee healthcare to Cobecon.
Employees, serving as a Health Insurance Committee, reviewed proposals from four different administrators, including current administrator MBA, but eventually decided to recommend the change to Cobecon to the commissioners.
They discussed the proposals and eventually made the insurance change in the meeting. Smokey Wildeman, commission chair.
The commissioners voted to award the administrative contract to Cobecon, but County Attorney Ken DeCock will review the agreement and return it to the commissioners for their signatures at the next commission meeting May 15.
