At last week's meeting, the Johnson County Commissioners took the recommendation from Road and Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer to award the CMAQ (Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality) Dust Abatement contract to Oxford, Inc.
The contract is for $433 per ton for a total contract amount of $673,659 of which the State of Wyoming will contribute $350,000.
Pehringer explains more about the bid.
The bid was a hard bid with no fuel surcharge and will cover dust abatement on approximately 130 miles of roads in the county. With funding secured for this year and next, Pehringer said, abatement will cover a lot of the same roads applying lesser amounts of abatement product in 2013.
The commissioners also authorized and signed the Notice to Proceed for the dust abatement project.
