Kenneth DeCock has been looking to hire another attorney to work in his office since he became Johnson County Attorney in January.
The search has been difficult at times, trying to balance experience with compensation, but he feels he has finally found the perfect match in attorney Christian Lukjan.
DeCock tells us about Lukjan, and why he chose to work in Buffalo.
DeCock said he had a number of applicants for the position, but Lukjan had the right combination of qualifications and demands that made him the best choice.
Earlier this year, DeCock had approached the County Commission about possibly raising the salary of the Deputy County Attorney, but they weren't willing to change the salary of the county's deputies until this year's budget sessions.
DeCock explains how he and the Commission made this hire work.
Assistant Deputy Attorney Christian Lukjan will be sworn into his new position at a ceremony this morning at 9 o'clock in the District Courtroom at the Johnson County Courthouse.
