The Johnson County Commissioners voted to sign a confidentiality agreement with the owner of a property in Buffalo that has been mentioned as a possible acquisition for future expansion of the Johnson County Library.
Commissioner Smokey Wildeman explains what prompted the request for the confidentiality agreement.
The letter requesting the agreement, according to Wildeman, said Goddard, Wages and Vogel were contacted by the managing member of an LLC who owns the property, requesting that all future discussions involving the property be done confidentially and without public disclosure through the attorney's office. The property owner is concerned with information on the discussions going public and getting back to her tenants at the property.
County Attorney Ken DeCock reviewed the agreement and the commission chair Smokey Wildeman signed the agreement.
