Johnson County Sheriff Steve Kozisek updated the Johnson County Commissione on some issues at the new justice center building at their first meeting of the year last Tuesday.
Kozisek told them that acoustic panels purchased through a local company had resolved sound issues in the offices and the dispatch center, and will save the county a substantial amount of money.
Kozisek then asked the commissioners for permission to purchase exercise equipment for the new jail, which has already been budgeted at roughly $7,500.
Kozisek asked to transfer the remaining One Percent funds left over from a previous purchase to the exercise equipment account to be used there.
The commissioners asked the sheriff to send a letter to the One Percent committee requesting the transfer, which would then come before the commissioners.
