Planning for the new elementary school in Buffalo that will begin construction in 2012 has already begun, and the first of a number of open houses designed to take public input on the design of the new school has been scheduled for next week.
School Superintendent Dr. Rod Kessler gave the information to the Board of Trustees at their meeting Monday night.
The schedules for public meetings and planned trips to Cody to view Sunset School, which was the model for the new school in Buffalo, have been tentatively set.
The first public meeting, which will give a project overview and show the preliminary design of the new school, is scheduled for next Tuesday, September 20 from 5:30 to 7pm at the Clear Creek School gymnasium. Those interested are encouraged to attend and comment on the design.
Other public meetings are scheduled for November 15 for final design review, and for January 10 to discuss the decommissioning or re-use of the Clear Creek School. Trips to tour Sunset School in Cody are scheduled for October.
