Signage for roads in rural Johnson County has been planned for some time, and now looks like it will get underway, according to County Fire Chief Wes Johnson, who is in charge of the program.
He gave the county commissioners an update on the status of the program at their last meeting, saying it should get underway this week.
Johnson said the project will begin on Clear Creek, and that his hope is to have the signs in the ground before the frost hits.
The county is working on a new, larger order for signs that they hope to have submitted before November 1st, Johnson said.
Posts for the signs were acquired locally. The signs come pre-drilled; county crews need only pound the posts and bolt the signs to them, so the project should move quickly.
