Johnson County's Commissioners, at their last meeting, discussed the possibility of holding public informational meetings on the NW Water Line Project, to inform the public in that area about the project and the possibility of county residents connecting to the water line in the area.
County Planner Rob Yingling discussed the idea of having public meetings with experts to inform them of what they need to do to get municipal water if they choose. Forming a special water district and then finding grants and loans to supply water from the municipal line to the individual properties would then need to be discussed.
The plan is for the county, along with experts in the field, to provide up tp three public meetings for county residents to learn how they can make municipal water available to themselves.
The commissioners approved Yingling to move forward with organizing and implementing the public meetings, and bring the information back to the commission at a future meeting.
