The Johnson County Commissioners, at their last meeting, discussed the proposed mill levy for Kaycee to create a solid waste district for southern Johnson County.
Commission Chairman Smokey Wildeman and DeCock discussed where the mill levy decision stands.
Also at the meeting, the Commission heard updates from the County Attorney on plane storage issues at the airport, where DeCock said he had heard nothing from the parties involved.
DeCock told the Commission that a draft agreement between the County and the Rural Health District over the use of a County-owned tower at the airport for communications for the EMT service is still being reviewed by County Coroner Dave Harness.
Kaycee-Area-Transportation-Service, or KATS, submitted a request for the use of the old ambulance barn in Kaycee to store their vehicles once the new ambulance barn is completed, and the commissioners approved the request.
The Commission approved a bid for audit services, and an agreement to officially designate the name of the new jail and court facility as the Justice Center.
The Commission also tabled adopting the Wildland Fire Management Annual Operating Plan until County Attorney DeCock can review the document to make sure the fire districts, and not the County, are liable for wild fires. DeCock will review the wording in the document.
