A number of grants were discussed and eventually accepted by the Johnson County Commissioners at their meeting Tuesday.
The first grant is a WyDOT grant for a taxi lane at the Johnson County Airport, for project # BYG-10A. The commission voted to allow the chair to sign the grant application.
The second grant is a Homeland Security Grant for Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Grant (HMEP), sponsored through the Department of Transportation to provide technical assistance, direction and guidance to state and local HMEP training.
The Commission approved signing the “Notice of Intent To Accept” paperwork at the meeting.
Jennifer Jackson, Administrative assistant to the commission, explained the new application process that takes effect this year for the grant.
Johnson County Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly submitted the grant application, requesting the commission approve the application, which they did approve.
