Johnson County's Assistant Planner Jerry Osborn made a number of requests on behalf of the County's Planning and Zoning Commission to the County Commissioners at their meeting earlier this month.
Osborne, filling in for vacationing County Planner Rob Yingling, requested the commissioners approve a new contract with a planning consulting firm for map overlay services. Osborne explains.
The map overlay project is one step toward the county developing zoning ordinances in the county. Also requested for approval were boundary adjustments on a number of properties in the county.
The first was an adjustment between the Maverik Store and Murdoch Trailer Park on Highway 16 East. The second adjustment was on properties owned by John and Bonnie Klasinski and the Cemetery District. The adjustment was to correct property lines that would have accommodated a street into an expansion of the 4-K Addition, but will now be an addition to Willow Grove Cemetery.
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the adjustments at last month's meeting, and all were approved by the county commission.
