The Johnson County Commissioners at their last meeting accepted a number of grants for different programs in the county.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, has a cost-share grant available for the flood mitigation in the state from this last spring when flooding hit portions of Wyoming.
Commissioner Delbert Eitel explains the grant and the Federal program.
Other grants accepted by the commissioners included a Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or TANF Grant, from the Department of Family Services in the amount of $545,387 in effect from October 1st, 2011 through September 30th, 2012.
Also approved for a matter of record was the acceptance of a grant from the Wyoming Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division for repair work on the runway at the Johnson County Airport and one for a VOA Grant from 2008 that will reimburse more than $27,000 in funds to the county.
