The Johnson County Commissioners, at last week's meeting, voted unanimously to accept a Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant from the State of Wyoming.
Johnson County Public Health was awarded the grant through the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program from the Wyoming Department of Health, along with a Federal Homeland Security Grant match for a total amount of $12,000.
Commissioner Smokey Wildeman discussed the grant with the commission.
The grant will fund Public Health in preparing for disasters, possible outbreaks or other such emergencies.
The grant is a continuation of the same grant from last year, and will be in effect from September 1, 2011 through August 31, 2012.
