In what appears to be the latest “shot across the bow” between Johnson County Attorney Ken DeCock and County Assessor Cindy Rogers, the two offices squared off in a verbal exchange at the county commissioner's meeting Tuesday.
Rogers asked Deputy County Attorney Ryan Wright if rumors she has been hearing about DeCock looking into acquiring an attorney to prosecute both the Assessor and the County Commissioners.
Mr. Wright stated, “No comment” to the question.
That prompted this exchange between Ryan and Rogers.
Later in the meeting, at the request of Rogers, DeCock was asked the same question concerning possible legal action against her office, to which DeCock also gave a “No comment.”
The exchange stems from Rogers' action earlier this year when she sought an outside legal opinion on the proposed Game and Fish lease of water at Lake DeSmet.
