Johnson County Planner Rob Yingling and representatives from the Shores at Lake DeSmet Subdivision brought a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission for consideration by the commissioners at last week's meeting.
The recommendation was to allow changes to the subdivision improvements agreement with the county. Developer Jason Spielman explains.
The original requirement was to pave the roads in the subdivision when a certain percentage of the lots had been sold.
The change allows them to gravel their road to the current standards to which Monument Road was recently done by the county.
They believe by putting in the improvements and graveling their roads to match the other county roads in the area, sales of lots in the subdivision may increase.
Yingling explains the materials failure provision in the agreement.
The commissioners voted to have the chairman sign the revised agreement pending approval of the county attorney.
