At their meeting Monday night, the Johnson County School District One board of Trustees voted to dedicate land at the site of the new Cloud Peak Elementary School to the City of Buffalo for an eventual continuation of Conrad Street to Main Street.
The school plan as it currently exists shows Conrad Street coming in from South DeSmet Avenue and ending on the school district's property.
School District and city officials want to eventually connect the dead-ended Conrad Street with South Main Street to the east, but the district needed to dedicate the land for the street and deed it to the city to make that happen.
The 1.11 acres of land will be specified for the street only and the City of Buffalo will own the strip, build the road and maintain it as a city street.
The board approved the dedication of the land, and legal documents will now be drawn for the transfer of ownership.
