The Johnson County School District hosted the final public meeting on the design of Buffalo's new intermediate school Tuesday night and a handful of curious citizens showed to see the design and ask a few questions.
Dan Odaz, with Plan 1 Architects, presented the latest designs and took comments and suggestions from those attending, and will now take those suggestions back and incorporate them into the final drafts for the design of the school.
One major change suggested was a locker room for the gymnasium which was not part of the original design, but was agreed by those attending was probably needed. The school district will be contributing money for a larger gym, and will more than likely have to fund the locker rooms as well.
Superintendent Dr. Rod Kessler tells us more about the meeting, the design and what's next for the project.
The project is expected to go out to bid January 15, construction is set to start in the spring of 2012, and is scheduled to be completed in May of 2013.
