At the regular meeting of the Johnson County School District One Board of Trustees this week, Superintendent Dr. Rod Kessler reported that Conrad Street at the new Cloud Peak School may get extended through to South Main Street sooner than originally thought.
Conrad Street currently dead-ends on the school property, and the city, school district and the property owner were all aware that the street would eventually be extended to Main Street, but with no specific time frame other than whenever the developer of the property to the east of the school decided to extend it.
Kessler told the board that the developer was meeting with various entities to discuss the possibility of the street extension.
The School Facilities Commission representative that has sat in on previous meetings concerning the Cloud Peak School project wants
to hear the results of this latest meeting, according to Kessler, who believes the Facilities Commission is willing to help push the idea through at the state level, because the project would benefit the school property.
