At last week's meeting, the Johnson County School Ditrict One Board of Trustees adopted the budget for FY 2012-2013 on the recommendation of District Business Manager Matt Ramey.
The $19.975 million General Fund Budget is $305,000 higher than last year's budget, mainly from increases in salaries and benefits.
Taking a closer look at the budget and breaking it down by function, the largest percentage, 54.61%, or $10.9 million will go to instruction. Next is general support at 32.91% or $6.5 million. Then instructional support at 11.73 % or $2.3 million. And finally operating transfers at 0.75% or $150,000.
The budget breakdown by object is 59.71% or $11.8 miilion for salaries. Benefits are at 23.10% or $4.6 million. Supplies are next at 8.26% or $1.6million. Purchased services are at 5.74% or $1.1 million. Equipment is 2.43% or $485,000. Other is at at 0.51% or $102,000 and finally transfers are 0.75% or $150,000.
