JCSD1 Board Member Recognizes Debate, Choir Students

At their meeting Monday night, the Johnson County School District One Board of Trustees worked through a light agenda with a number of district administration personnel gone for various reasons.

Board member Macy Schuler gave reports to those attending on Nationals for the debate team and National Honor Choir, which Buffalo High School had students attending.

Schuler said four BHS students attended debate Nationals in Indianapolis with over 6,000 kids from around the country.
She said the four BHS kids held their own with the big-time debaters there.

BHS also had three students perform with the National Honor Choir and perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

According to the Kennedy Center's website, the National Association for Music Education takes America's top high school music students from throughout the country and performs as the National Honor Concert Band, Choir, and Strings.

Schuler was impressed with the BHS students that attended that event and said the state was well represented also.

Andee Schuler, Hannah Danielson and Spencer Walters performed as part of the National Honor Choir.
