At their meeting last week, the Johnson County School District One Board of Trustees heard updates on the various construction projects from Business Manager Matt Ramey.
Ramey said the district's main construction project at Cloud Peak Elementary School is progressing and on schedule so far with ¾ of a gymnasium completed and walls and flooring beginnig to take shape.
Construction on the water lines for the new and existing schools is also gearing up, he said, with the city taking charge of overseeing that project. Bidding has already happened on the project and construction is expected to begin soon.
Meadowlark Elementary's remodel project is “going well” and about a week ahead of schedule, he said. The storm drain project is expected to begin this week. Future projects for the school will be replacing the gym floor, repaving the parking lot and work on the outside of the building.
Finally, he said the resurfacing of the track at George Grace Field was completed in time for last week's Relay For Life events.
