The Johnson County School District One Board of Trustees, at their meeting this week, awarded a contract for a drainage project at Meadowlark Elementary School to Hot Iron Incorporated of Gillette.
School District Business Manager Matt Ramey brought the recommendation to the board, saying Hot Iron was the low bidder of the four to submit bids at the May 24 bid opening, with a $92,204.61 total bid on the project.
The project will alleviate water accumulating on the backside of the school and actually coming into the school in one hallway. Drainage measures will be installed and work performed on the south parking lot to remove water accumulating there as well.
The work will begin shortly and will be completed before the beginning of the schoolyear in August.
