At their meeting Monday night, the Johnson County School District One Board of Trustees adopted their budget for the 2013-14 School year.
According to information provided at the meeting, the district will enter the year with a General Fund Budget of $20,050,000 which is an increase of $75,000 over the 2012-13 school year due mainly to increases in salaries and benefits.
Reserves as of June 30, 2013 were estimated at $2,954,745.
Appropriations adopted by the school district were:
General Fund, $20,050,000; Special Revenue Funds, $2,700,000; Debt Service Funds, $81,450; Capital Projects Funds, $2,100,000; Enterprise Funds, $605,000; Agency Funds, $1,070,000; Internal Service Funds, $55,000; Special Purpose Funds, $200,000 for a total appropriation of $26,861,450.
The district will continue to be a recapture district, meaning they are allowed to keep funds allowed by the Wyoming Funding Model and must return all funds above and beyond that to the state.
This year's estimated recapture payment will be $6.2 million, as compared to $16.3 million last year.
