During their monthly meeting Wednesday night, the Johnson County Healthcare Center's Board of Trustees received a report from Hospital Administrator Sandy Ward, about a gift the facility received last week from the estate one of its former nursing home residents.
Marcy Schueler, Information Specialist for the JCHC, said that in the 1970's and 80's, a surgeon, Dr. McLean, lived and worked in Sheridan, but also performed surgeries at the JCHC.
Schueler explains where the gift came from.
The donation was for just over $400,000 according to Ward and will be used as Mrs. McLean wished it distributed.
Roughly $200,000 will go towards the Amie Holt Care Center replacement project; about $100,000 will be used to purchase equipment for the operating rooms; and the remaining roughly $101,000 will go to the Hospital Building Fund for the new hospital wing.
