The Board of Trustees at the Johnson County Healthcare Center received some good news at their last meeting when Hospital Administrator Sandy Ward reported a strong financial showing in January.
Ward said overall volume in the healthcare center dropped some in December to $1.4 million in gross charges but in-patient volume in the hospital has been very busy and he expects final numbers in January to be at $1.6 million in gross charges.
Collections in January are also strong, sitting at $238,000 ahead of last year in the hospital and $60,000 ahead in the clinic.
Net Profit is on budget for the year but slightly down from the previous year.
Operating loss is slightly higher than last year but Ward expects that to rectify itself by the end of the Fiscal Year in June.
In-patient numbers are up in the hospital, and patient numbers in the Amie Holt Care Center have been averaging slightly higher than last year, with 40 current residents.
“We're doing pretty much like we thought we were going to do. Unless we have some really bad months I think we have the potential to come out better than our forecasted revenue,” Ward said.
