Johnson County Healthcare Center Administrator Sandy Ward reported to the Hospital Board at their last meeting that the financial report for November and December showed revenues above last year at the same time, and also above where they were forecast for fiscal year 2012.
Revenues are $24,000 ahead of projections so far this year, with $1.55 million gross revenue for November and $$1.45 million in December.
Gross revenues are $160,000 ahead of forecast for the year and $700,000 ahead of last year.
Collections are okay, according to Ward, due to a new electronic format for submitting claims to Medicare that had some problems but should be corrected soon.
Expenses are higher than projected so far, because of training new employees in addition to the regular salary/wage expenses and supplies are higher due to a periodic major drug purchse that was made last month, he said.
Ward summed up the financial situation, saying he thought "so far, it's been a pretty good year."
Additionally, the board was presented with the memorial and donation report for December. The healthcare center received $1,305 through various Hospice Memorials.
