JCHC Dedicates New ER To Former Employee

In a ceremony held in the new Main Entrance and new Emergency Room of the remodeled Johnson County Helathcare Center Friday afternoon, the hospital dedicated their new ER to former employee Tommy Smith.
Friends, family and co-workers filled the atrium to witness the ceremony, remember Smith and try to help each other mourn and heal.
Hospital Adminstrator Sandy Ward led the ceremony, explaining that Smith was well-loved by the staff and especially his patients at the facility.
No one he could think of, he said, would be more deserving of the honor of the dedication.
He explains more about the decision to honor Smith.
A plaque and portrait of Smith will be mounted in the ER's entrance.
