JCHC: Decision On 2018 Project Coming In December

A decision on whether or not to move ahead with the 2018 Construction Project to replace the aging Amie Holt Care Center is expected to be made at the December meeting of the Hospital's Board of Trustees.

The board will be looking at projected cash flows and the facility's revenue from county valuation to help them in their decision.

An update on where the project now stands was given to the board at their last meeting by Hospital Administrator Sandy Ward.
Ward said CTA Architects and Engineers, who is currently working on conceptual drawings for the facility, is working with the staff of Amie Holt, taking their ideas and suggestions into account in the planning stages.

Ward reminded the board of the proposed time line for the project, saying the plan is for the board to decide to move forward or not at their meeting in three months. If everything goes as planned, the project would go to bid in April of 2014,construction would start in May and be completed at the end of 2015.

So far, the facility has spent $290,000 in architectural fees on the project.
