At their monthly meeting Wednesday night, the Johnson County Healthcare Center's Board of Trustees got positive financial news from Administrator Sandy Ward.
Ward reported that January was busy at the facility and February looks to be fairly busy again.
Gross charges totaled $1.8 million in January and Ward estimated February's gross charges at $1.4 million, both months ahead of figures in 2012.
Cash collections are up $430,000 over 2012 numbers as well, and net profit for the facility is sitting at $1.6 million so far this fiscal year, but operating loss is at $538,000.
Patient numbers in the hospital are averaging 7.1 patients per day and deliveries/OB numbers are way up. In-patient visits are up but out-patient numbers are down as are patient visits in the clinic.
Ward told the board there is “potential (for numbers) to come in better than (projected in) the original budget. Things are looking good so far this year, but that can change very quickly.”
