JCHC Board Gets Numbers Reports For July

At their last regular meeting the Johnson County Healthcare Center's Board of Trustees were updated on the current numbers in the various departments of the center.

Home Health reported 37 active patients and seven discharges and Hospice reported three active patients.

The clinic reported 1,218 total patients in June , which is down 95 from the same point last year.
Beginning September 1st, the clinic will have a separate doctor working there as opposed to the ER doctor covering both the clinic and ER duties. The clinic and ER will now have separate doctors manning them on Saturdays effective September 1st.

For credentialing, the staff had reviewed and recommended for re-appointment by the board a number of doctors and nurses that were subsequently approved.

The Amie Holt Care Center reported residents at 37, substantially lower than in recent years. Recruiting by the facility is going ahead and they expect residents to increase to near 40 very shortly.
The director of the care center discussed her recent change of heart concerning the hospital becoming a smoke-free campus.
The board will discuss the matter further in upcoming future meetings.
