At their last meeting, the Johnson County Healthcare Center Board of Trustees discussed health Insurance, both for employees and providers' contracts with the facility.
United Healthcare and Cygna are currently in negotiations with the center to provide healthcare to their members, according to Hospital Administrator Sandy Ward.
Ward said neither company currently has a contract with the center, but Great West Healthcare, who currently has a contract with them, was recently purchased by Cygna, and if no contract can be negotiated, the healthcare center may lose State Employees.
Employee Health Insurance was discussed and Ward said they had received good quotes from different compoanies to provide group health insurance to their employees.
He recommended the contract from Fairmont Specialties, and to not increase premiums, which the board approved.
