The Johnson County Healthcare Center Board of Trustees had their January meeting Wednesday evening, and discussed their current construction project, the projects they hope to complete this year, and the next phase of construction at the healthcare center.
Projects the board hopes to complete this year include completing the current construction, which is tentatively scheduled for June; begin planning for the next phase of construction, called the 2016 Project; begin to implement Electronic Health Records for the entire facility; and to continue and complete recruiting of physicians.
The 2016 Project will replace the aging Amie Holt Care Center with a brand new facility seperate from the current healthcare center.
Hospital Administrator Sandy Ward explained to the board that replacing the nursing home will have to be studied intensely to decide if funding is available and then to determine if having a facility is even feasible in today's climate.
He explains further.
