JC Courtroom Addition Means Move for Recycling Center

JC Courtroom Addition Means Move for Recycling Center

The new courtroom addition at the new criminal justice center in Buffalo will apparently necessitate a move of the Buffalo/Johnson County Recycling Center.

This comes as no surprise to City and County officials, but the timing has possibly been moved up due to the County's decision to look into starting construction of the addition this coming year.

Officials from both entities toured the construction site on Tuesday, and City Councilman Bruce Hepp had this to say.

Hepp was asked if that means the recycling center will still have to be moved.

Although the site has not been officially picked for the new recycling center, Hepp said there have been some discussions in the past on where to locate it.

There is no set time that the County has for completing the courtroom addition at the CJC yet, but it looks as if things will be moving on it this next Spring. Hepp was asked if the City was aware of a specific timetable for moving the recycling center.

Hepp said even though the project isn't imminent, it is coming and it's good to take a good, long look at things and to plan early to resolve any issues beforehand.
