The local Sheridan Jaycees is offering leadership opportunities. Sheridan Media's Leslie Stratmoen has the details.
An organization that’s been providing development opportunities for young business leaders since the 1930s is in the process of building membership.
President Michelle Edwards of the Jaycees said the club was actually founded in 1915 as a junior chamber of commerce, but branched off and is now international. During a brief presentation at this week’s Chamber luncheon, she went on to say the club’s open to anyone 18- to 40-years-old.
Right now, she said, the group has 30 members, and anyone who wants to join can check the organization out online at sheridanjaycees.org. In addition to leadership opportunities, the organization is known for service to communities. In Sheridan, the group supports several fundraisers like the Run Til Your Green Fun Run, Casino Night and Relay for Life.
