The Wernick Method Bluegrasss Jamming Class taught by Lynn Young will begin January 27th and run through the end of March.
For those interested in learning to play with other musicians (to jam with them) this is the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the craft.
Lynn Young, local picker and co-organizer of the annual Big Horn Mountain Festival in Buffalo, will teach the class, which is designed for those with at least a working knowledge of their instrument.
He explains more.
The eight-week course will be offered at the Sheridan Senior Center every Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5pm from january 27th through March 24th, except February 17th.
The eight-session course costs $195.
Some things students will learn by taking the class include: keeping a steady rhythm; anticipating chord changes; playing and singing together; and singing harmony to just name a few.
Instruments that can be played in the class are guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, bass or dobro. Chords needed are D, C, G and A.
