Today is the annual Trees for Trash in Sheridan, where you can exchange your trash for a free scotch pine at either the City Landfill or McDonald's on North Main. Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey encourages the public to help clean things up.
All you have to do is show up at either location with a some type of
address verification and get rid of up to one ton of household trash for free. Bigger loads should be taken to the landfill and smaller ones to McDonald's.
There will be a charge for batteries, tires and for refrigerators that have not been decommissioned. No hazardous waste will be accepted during Trees for Trash.
