The Sheridan County Museum held a Museum Appreciation Weekend this past Saturday and Sunday and Sheridan Media's Judy Hagerott stopped by and brings us this story.
Free admission to a museum, now who can pass that by? The Sheridan County Museum, right off the 5th Street exit held a Museum Appreciation Weekend and featured free admission, discounts in the museum mercantile and museum memberships, plus refreshments. Museum Director, Nathan Doerr explains what it's all about.
Georgen says “Snippets” is a collection of 366 stories about the first 125 years of Sheridan County history. Out of 366, the story that stood out to Georgen was about Anton Piasecke.
Charlene Bodine took advantage of the free weekend and says the museum is a treasure.
This year is the 125th anniversary of Sheridan County and this year's exhibits focus around that history.
The exhibit dates from pre-1888 all the way through today.
There was a bit of a surprise at the museum. Director Nathan Doerr is stepping down.
It wasn't an easy decision.
Doerr's last day will be June 21st. Sarah Ligocki will serve as interim director until a replacement is found.
