The Wyoming Secretary of State's Office hosted a presentation Tuesday night at the Sheridan Holiday Inn that focused on educating the public about investment fraud. Secretary of State Max Maxfield says that informing the public of such scams is the first step in staying one step ahead of the scammers.
SOS Compliance Division Director Karen Wheeler said that most of the investment fraud that they deal with has to do with Ponzi schemes and that the new public education program that they've started will have them traveling around the state over the next year hosting similar public education presentations.
