Sheridan Fire-Rescue responded to the Sheridan County Airport shortly after 10 am Friday morning as a call came in that a single engine plane was attempting to land while experiencing problems with its landing gear. Sheridan Fire-Rescue and the Sheridan County Airport Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting units staged adjacent to the runway while the plane landed in the grass beside the main runway.
The media release issued by SFR states that the plane came to a stop, sustaining damage to the propeller and front landing gear. There were no injuries to the two passengers of the plane and Sheridan County ARFF personnel determined that there was no hazard with the plane.
