An man from Idaho suspected in a carjacking was detained Wednesday in southeastern Montana. The Billings Gazette reports that the Big Horn County Sheriff's Department confirmed the arrest.
Officials had been looking for 36-year-old Rodney Seiber since the morning of Sept. 18. He was suspected of threatening a welding supply company employee in Nampa, Idaho, before taking a company van.
A Big Horn County under-sheriff said the fugitive stole an ATV early that morning and by early afternoon had wrecked the vehicle in a ravine on the Crow Reservation. He said sheriff's deputies and officers with the Bureau of Indian Affairs had been in close pursuit.
The Crow Nation first reported the arrest Wednesday evening on the tribe's Facebook page.
In addition to charges of robbery and grand theft, the 36-year-old man from Idaho now faces charges of eluding an officer and possession of a controlled substance.
