Wyoming's Governor Matt Mead is aiming to bag an antelope this weekend in the One-Shot hunt in Lander and his wife is signed up for next month's first-ever women's antelope hunt in Ucross.
So, Sheridan Media's Kim Love asked the governor during his Public Pulse show this week, if the situation had created any unexpected tension between the two.
The Lander One-Shot hunt's been ongoing since 1939 and boasts shooters that range from legendary singers like Roy Rogers to politicians like former Vice-President Dick Cheney of Wyoming. He's one of this year's guest celebrities. The hunt event is already underway and for men only.
But, it's not too late for the ladies' hunt. That's coming up on Oct. 3-6. An organizer of the event spoke to the Sheridan County Commission this week to offer an invite, at which time she said they still had spots open.
