A whole lot of homespun fun was found at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds as hundreds gathered for the annual 4-H Carnival this past Saturday.
Ten clubs were represented and each set up booths in the Exhibition Hall, as all ages enjoyed a variety of games including a cake walk, ring toss, golf, face painting and bingo. But the one kids waited in line for was the Wii Chicken Shoot.
Allison Flynn, the 4-H Youth Development Educator said that the carnival is the principle fundraiser for 4-H and monies raised go to help pay for scholarships, travel to statewide events, educational programs, and to help the 4-H program throughout the year. She added that 4-H gives a different experience than what’s provided in the classroom; it’s more hands-on.
There are eleven active 4-H clubs in Sheridan County.
