The State Legislature's decision to increase funding to local governments by $10 million figures to be a much needed boost to governments who are once again projecting budget shortfalls. City of Sheridan Clerk Scott Badley explains how the funding will help the City amidst declining revenues.
Since the funding won't be available until after the beginning of the fiscal year that starts in July, Badley describes what that means for the City's budgeting process.
The increase would bring local government funding up to $45 million. A conference committee will likely meet next week to resolve differences in the House and Senate amendments.
