The State House and Senate have each passed their own $3.2 billion budget bills with a few minor differences, according to Representative Rosie Berger.
Monday the House of Representatives passed House Bill 1 (the budget bill) on third reading with about 40 amendments. She explains how one of the big areas where the bills differ might interest some in Sheridan.
She said the compromise on the funding allocation could come down to the other difference between the House and Senate; the Senate appropriated $3.2 million in an amendment for developmental disability waivers in the state health department budget while the House did not. She says if the House accepts that Senate proposal there could possibly be a $4 million agreement for community colleges in conference committee later this week.
